I'm Devorah Hadassah Liebermann, better known as the mother of Ma'ayan, my incredible 17 year old daughter who is struggling, yet thriving, with a life threatening illness. Since the age of 3 Ma'ayan has with each consecutive year stopped talking, walking, seeing, swallowing and breathing unassisted. Thank You G-o-d, Ma'ayan can still hear, smell and receive and give touch!
In addition to being a mother, I have my Masters in Communication Disorders and Speech Therapy, I am a certified Holistic Practitioner & Founder of SITS Wellness . I strive to help women and caregivers to attach to hope and resilience, shift belief and speech patterns, and even learn to communicate with their ill loved ones while enriching self image and developing confidence with a deep emuna(faith) based foundation.
With G-o-d's help, I've created the S.I.T.S Torah Based Wellness Technique which I use to guide women to ground themselves with breath to become resilient, develop relationships, and capabilities to communicate authentically with both their Creator, themselves and their loved ones as they face an array of life challenges such as critical illness, trauma or loss.
Looking forward to "SITTING" with His Great Compassion!
Warmly,
Devorah Hadassah Liebermann

S.I.T.S. Method: Sense, Intuit & Integrate, Trust, Surrender
The S.I.T.S. Method is a holistic approach to personal and spiritual growth, rooted in timeless Jewish wisdom. It helps individuals cultivate self-awareness, resilience, and alignment with their highest purpose. Combining mindfulness, emotional regulation, and spiritual practice, S.I.T.S. offers practical tools for navigating life’s challenges with clarity and integrity.
Core Principles:
1. S – Sense:
Ground yourself in the present. Using your senses, notice your thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations without judgment. This mirrors the Baal Shem Tov’s teaching to find holiness in every moment and to see life clearly as it is as well as the teachings of the Piacezna Rebbe.
2. I – Intuit & Integrate:
Tap into your inner guidance (Intuit) and harmonize it with your thoughts, emotions, and actions (Integrate). Intuition identifies the right path, while integration ensures that insights become embodied in daily life. This reflects the Piacezna Rebbe’s emphasis on aligning inner awareness with practical ethical living.
3. T – Trust:
Cultivate trust in yourself, the process, and the Divine. Trust encourages patience, self-compassion, and confidence amid uncertainty. Rabbi Salanter taught that ethical and spiritual growth requires trusting the process of self-refinement while consistently striving to improve.
4. S – Surrender:
Surrender is the conscious release of attachment to outcomes or control. By letting go, you create space for clarity, peace, and alignment with life’s flow. Surrender allows the wisdom of the Baal Shem Tov and Mussar greats to be expressed naturally in your lived experience. All of these different streams of thought and discipline actually work well together making a well rounded cohesive model.
Applications:
• Emotional regulation and self-leadership
• Mindful decision-making aligned with values
• Navigating stress, uncertainty, and transitions
• Strengthening spiritual connection and purpose
• Cultivating gratitude, presence, and resilience
Impact:
Practitioners of S.I.T.S. move from reactive patterns to conscious, values-driven responses. Rooted in Chassidic and Mussar teachings, the method helps individuals cultivate self-trust, emotional balance, and a deep connection to the Divine, enabling them to navigate life’s challenges with clarity, courage, and grace.
Spiritual Foundations:
S.I.T.S. draws inspiration from classical Jewish teachings:
• The Baal Shem Tov, founder of Chassidut, emphasized the importance of connecting deeply with one’s inner soul and the Divine in every moment, even through simple actions.
• The Piacezna Rebbe, a Chassidic master, highlighted the integration of emotional sensitivity with ethical and spiritual growth, teaching that awareness must be paired with action.
• The Mussar movement, led by figures such as Rabbi Israel Salanter, focused on self-refinement, ethical discipline, and cultivating emotional intelligence as pathways to holiness and spiritual clarity.
